Your Photographer will be at the venue around 15minutes before the ceremony to photograph the Groom and his best man before the ceremony. Upon the arrival of the Bridal party, the photographer will take a small selection of pictures of the bride/bridesmaids/father etc before the ceremony. If you only require a small amount of pictures or it’s just the two of you, this may not apply and it may be best to wait until after the ceremony to begin the pictures, with a signing of the register photograph.
This is when most of the photographs are taken; the newlyweds and wedding party gather behind the anvil for the group photographs. We take the majority of the groups at this stage when everyone is at hand and they're photo-ready as soon as the previous group is finished. This means that we don’t keep you too long taking pictures and also ensures we don’t miss anyone who might sneak off later on. Then your photographer will bring the party outside into the gardens for some fun relaxed pictures as well as some more posed traditional photographs and any additional group pictures you may wish. All of the Gretna venues have wonderful photographic opportunities outside with the ‘Gretna Green’ sign, the ‘kissing gate’ and if you have a Piper or wedding car, these can make excellent features in your photographs. A relaxed, fun experience!
With our larger photographic packages, your photographer will also return to your hotel and to take a ‘cutting of the cake’ photograph. There, we can take any additional photographs you may still require, though we try not take too much time away from your guests.
